Artist Statement
Every story deserves the chance to be told. If there is one solitary truth I live by, it would be that. As an artist, I hope to assist in telling the stories of others around me in hopes that those who are in need of hearing them have the opportunity- to be the voice i needed to hear when I needed it most. My work typically focuses on LGBT themes and characters and their acceptance and love of themselves. I own the heart of a traveler, and through my journeys I find myself inspired by the stories I witness, and the often-unknown histories and as an artist I have the ability to tell them in my own unique ways. I seek to build worlds that those in need can step into and safely explore in their own creative journey- to safely explore themselves, their thoughts, their feelings. As an artist, I tend to have a heavy focus on color and shading, as well as a fascination with movement and the human form. Ranging from illustration to animation I hope to represent the stories of others in the media we consume and with every stroke of my pen I endeavor to bring these ideas to life in a way where these characters feel human and others form genuine connections to the stories they tell.
